About the Artist

I’m a contemporary artist working primarily in acrylic, exploring color, shape, light, and the ways we experience the world around us. My work ranges from vibrant interpretations of familiar places to more experimental explorations of ideas, materials, and visual language.

After studying computer science and spending years working in technology, I found my way back to painting through an art course at the University of Washington. What began as a renewed curiosity gradually became a serious commitment.

My work often starts with a photograph, sketch, observation, or brief spark of an idea. From there, I simplify, rearrange, exaggerate, and experiment—exploring the tension between recognition and abstraction, and how a familiar scene can transform into something personal. I’m interested in how color, form, and light can evoke memory, emotion, atmosphere, and a distinct sense of place.

I’m influenced by artists who approach color, representation, and process in different ways, as well as by the landscapes and visual culture of the Pacific Northwest.

Ultimately, I want my paintings to remain open—leaving space for the viewer’s own memory, feeling, and interpretation.
